How to Use DTF Transfers
Step-by-Step Instructions
- Prepare Your Surface - Make sure your fabric or garment is clean, dry, and wrinkle-free. Pre-press with a heat press to remove moisture.
- Position the Transfer - Place your DTF transfer print-side down on your garment in the desired location.
- Apply Heat and Pressure - Use a heat press at 300-320°F (150-160°C) for 10-15 seconds with medium to firm pressure. Cover with a protective sheet.
- Peel the Film - Let it cool for a few seconds, then peel away the transfer film while it's still warm (hot peel method). Some transfers may require cold peeling - check your transfer instructions.
- Final Press - Cover the design with a protective sheet and press again for 5-10 seconds to ensure proper adhesion.
Tips for Best Results
- Use a heat press for professional results (household irons may not provide even pressure)
- Don't stretch the fabric while the transfer is still warm
- Wait 24 hours before washing
- Wash inside out in cold water and hang dry or tumble dry low
- Avoid fabric softener and bleach
